Well, I can only give you general statements based on my experiences being engaged to a Punjabi man. My engagement failed due to his mothers dislike of me and the general family upset about the cultural and age differences between us.
I would say…. dont wear tank tops and jeans but get some salwar kameez to wear or something similar.
remember not to use your left hand for eating
drink bottled water and go easy on local produce
i drink local water and eat local produce when i go, but support that by using digestive cleanse herbs
recommended by hulda clark (parasite and bacterial cleanses, i do the whole time there)
never got sick in india when doing this
watch what the others are eating before ordering chicken or meat items, stick to veg.
dont assume that everyone is your friend, or that everyone has good intentions, seriously both genders
even people who are acting nice may not be your friend. many people have bad attitudes about american
girls and think that all american women are whores. THis One Really surprised me! they will still smile at
you and talk nicely to you when they think this tho… but watch out!
dont stay where you are not feeling loved liked or protected
dont go into His room at night until married for any reason… i had to do this once to get a charger and his
mom sat in a chair with a belt smacking it threateningly from time to time, til i got out
HOPEFULLY YOU WILL BE IN A GREAT SITUATION WHERE YOU WONT NEED ANY OF THESE WARNINGS BUT SERIOUSLY REMEMBER PEOPLE WHO ARE REALLY HATED IN INDIA ARE SOMETIMES MURDERED,
APPARENTLY, BEING NON INDIAN AND MARRYING AN INDIAN MAN MAY BE CONSIDERED "WRONG" BY SOME PEOPLE.
THIS IS NOT MY VIEW AT ALL, BUT I HAVE REPEATEDLY OBSERVED IT IN INDIANS.
Nobody ever warned me of the "kitchen fire" of india which takes the lives of many young brides. I still dont know if its true or not but just passing along what i was warned of.
