First Indian Restaurant in Town

That's right, we've finally gotten our very own Indian restaurant here in town. No more driving an hour into the city to feast on delectable Indian food and lassi, no more buying frozen Indian meals from the grocery store and heating them up in the microwave.

Yup, after three long years doing the above just for a taste of Indian cuisine, after our breakup an Indian restaurant moves in - to rub it in our faces? To spite us? We will never know. But what I do know is, I have no one to go with anymore!!!

New Indian Restaurant in Town: Bombay Star

Well, Raj, the partial owner, doesn't look that friendly anyway!

You could always go with your friends of if you have indian friends go with them, Heck you can go check it out and do food review of the place. Tell us all how it is….. just some food for thought LOL

    • MDG says:

Food review – that is a good idea, Nicki! As for getting together with friends, us girls have been getting together a lot lately for my friend’s upcoming wedding – bridal showers and that – so I’m not sure there’s any time in the near future we can squeeze in an Indian meal together with all the other stuff going on. And, it might take some convincing on my part! Here’s hoping!

    Hey MDG,
I don’t know why but looks like the partial owner was a grad student who dropped out of the grad school. That’s the career option I am considering in case I get kicked out of my PhD LOLZ. The only difference, I want to do this in India so that I don’t get sued for bad food. Also, I sent you a message using “contact me” hope you got that ! :)

    • MDG says:

LOL Knut! Good idea, when the going gets tough, open an Indian restaurant! No, I didn’t receive your message, I’m not sure why! If you’re able to send it again please do. Sorry for the inconvenience. I recently received a letter from someone else recently so it must be working correctly. To be safe, you could send it to “myindianlove.admin at gmail”.

      • Knut says:

Oh yeah, not only an Indian restaurant, but an Indian restaurant in India, so that you don’t have to worry about getting sued.
Also, I forwarded it to the address you said. Hope you get it this time !!

        • MDG says:

hahaha yes, we Americans are way too sue happy!!

          • Knut says:

Yeah that’s the downside of having an efficient judiciary. In India, cases don’t move till at least one of the sides is dead!! Also looks like you still didn’t get what I sent. Maybe you should check your spam. I could have had posted it here but It would be really lame to do so !!

    HI MDG,

    Raj, looks very suspicious:)

Maybe, he thinks you are a secret agent woman:)

Jeez, you must live indeed in a very small town. I was under the impression even little hamlets in all of America and even Alaska have at least one Indian or Chinese restaurant or mexican restaurant.

So, what happened to all the people here? Apart from lovely yourself, lovely MDG, the other people seem to have disappeared !!

Wonder, if it is something to do with my cologne:)

    • MDG says:

Good question, where did everybody go!? I have many visitors each day but not too many commenters, unless a hot debate is going on it seems. Maybe you should change your cologne, just in case! :)

I didn’t think my town was THAT small but I agree, we sure have our share of Mexican and Chinese shops but not Indian. Not sure why. I’m interested to see how long this one lasts.

    Lovely MDG,

Since, you like Indian food, you’ll get a kick out of this You tube parody of Indian food consumption by a British singer:

    Enjoy

    MDG,

I, too, do not have a good Indian restaurant close by. The one I knew of shut down, and that was still 30 miles away from my small town. Normally, I resort to finding good Indian recipes online and attempting myself! :) I have made Chicken Tikka Masala, Potato Brinjal Curry, found a wonderful ‘Naan’ recipe online, and have tried some other dishes as well. I love to cook, so I don’t mind! :)
Again, thanks so much for the response to my email. I am still working on some things, but really appreciate you taking the time to read my email and responding!

    –Kari :)
